Recently, Murata Electronics introduced the Planar High-density Passive Device (PHPD) technology for low-height components. This technology can be applied to many components, such as filters, diplexers, and mode transformers.

The first component to benefit from the use of PHPD technology is the Micro Chip Filter. This filter was designed to be the lowest-cost filter option for applications like WLAN, UWB, and RFID. It measures a mere 1.2 × 0.8 × 0.4 mm. PHPD technology is a good fit for a variety of low-height components. Its extremely small size enables the current trend toward more compact wireless products.

Although PHPD products are still under development, samples are available upon request. Pricing is dependent on the number of poles and the required performance.
