The Open Source Development Labs (www.osdl.org) announced a milestone: 22 major companies are now participating in and supporting the development of Carrier Grade Linux (CGL) specifications.
Wireless Valley Communications, Inc. (www.wirelessvalley.com) joined the WiMAX Forum (www.wimaxforum.org). Through its involvement with this forum, Wireless Valley hopes to ensure the availability of deployment software for rapid and accurate network installation. It also hopes to provide real-time traffic provisioning and network management from a console down to the client.
Motia, Inc. (www.motia.com) closed its third round of funding, which totaled $12 million. Prism Venture Partners led the round, which also included an investment from the Intel Communications Fund.
Aeroflex, Inc. launched an e-commerce store at www.aeroflexstore.com. The site features the new PXI 3000 Series, which is the first of many product lines that the company plans to make available through the storefront. The site allows customers to buy modules, options, and warranties online.
Konarka Technologies, Inc. (www.konarkatech.com) secured $18 million in its Series C round of financing. The financing will be used for the equipment, expenses, and investments associated with scaling manufacturing to production levels.
Emulation and Verification Engineering, or EVE (www.eve-team.com), closed a second round of funding totaling $7.2 million. The new investment will be used to grow EVE's business by expanding its research and development team. It also will boost the company's sales and support structure.
Kenet, Inc. (www.kenetinc.com) closed a $10 million Series B preferred round of equity financing at a step-up in valuation. This round brings the total equity investment in Kenet to $17 million. The company plans to use the financing to support expanded engineering, sales, and marketing initiatives.
GlobalSpec (www.globalspec.com) and Dice, Inc. (www.diceengineering.com) partnered to establish an engineering job search on GlobalSpec. With this new function, the engineers and technical professionals who regularly use GlobalSpec gain access to more than 40,000 Dice job postings. These postings include more than 9000 engineering postings.
Telenor Mobile Interactive USA (www.telenor-interactive.com) was acquired by Telenor Venture, the venture capital company within the Telenor Group. The company will now be called Telenor Interactive.
U.S. Robotics Corp. (www.usr.com) announced that its management team acquired a majority stake in the company from Solectron, Inc. This acquisition gives the U.S. Robotics management team majority ownership in the company. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Anadigm (www.anadigm.com) is moving its U.S. base from California's Silicon Valley to Tempe, Ariz.

@Road Founder and former CEO, Rodric Fan, and @Road Co-founder, E. David Mleczko, announced a family of advanced mobile data products from their new venture: GenX Mobile, Inc. (www.genxmobile.com). GenX Mobile is located in San Jose, Calif. Its focus is to supply intelligent in-vehicle devices and technologies for the mobile-resource-management (MRM) and mobile-security industries.
AuthenTec, Inc. (www.authentec.com) raised $15 million in a Series D investment round led by the Carlyle Group. This funding should financially strengthen the company while providing strategic resources and solidifying its market position.
