In the wireless-device arena, both MEMS and analog/mixed-signal designs are seeing significant growth. But layout and verification tasks are particularly tricky. Tanner EDA has made this job easier with the latest release of L-Edit Pro, Version 10. The software, which runs on Windows, is used for analog and mixed-signal IC, MEMS, and integrated optical-device designs.

L-Edit Pro 10 offers several new features to both increase design-verification speed and analyze all-angle geometry prior to fabrication. An example is its hierarchical design-rule checking (DRC), which enables users to complete design verifications much faster than they could with traditional flat DRC engines. The L-Edit Pro 10 DRC utilizes the hierarchical information in a design to eliminate the redundant checking of duplicated geometry. This information also can be used to identify a smaller set of unique errors. Additionally, the hierarchical error browser enables users to view and correct errors where they occur in the hierarchy.

For MEMS and optical designs, the software provides all-angle DRC. It supports all-angle polygons and wires, circles, arcs, pie wedges, and tori-curve editing, as well as layer generation and Boolean operations.

L-Edit Pro 10 is now available for new customers or as an upgrade option for current L-Edit Pro users. Support is provided for Windows XP, 2000, NT, and 98/ME.
