Launched by the Russians, this satellite called Sputnik, as basic as it was, set off a stream of events that could not have been anticipated. There are dozens of books on wireless networking out there. I must have eight or ten of them myself and add to that pile every now and then simply because these books go out of date so fast. Just when the authors finish the book they become obsolete as new standards, technologies, chips and applications come along. Asi es la vida . . . as they say.
